Rei’s cyborg body shares a lot of similarity with Amakusa Rin, powered by a plasma fusion reactor which also generates the superheated plasma coating for her blade, enabling it to cut through nearly any material. Yet Rei’s true strength lies beyond her weapon—she was Rin’s most talented disciple even before her transformation, with a swordsmanship that nearly matched her mentor’s.
Following her conversion, Rei rigorously trained to fuse her new body and weapon into a seamless whole—her blade is an extension of her body, and her body, a part of the blade. Calm and composed, she does not strike hastily; instead, she waits for the perfect moment to deliver a killing blow with minimal motion. Rin recognized leadership potential in Rei and deliberately set up trials to hone her skills, hoping she might one day lead the cybernetic special forces in her place.
